While content marketing is not a new idea, content marketing remains one of the most effective methods of marketing on websites and blogs.
Helpful content with is proving to be an effective way for businesses to drive valuable website traffic.
This is also aligned with Google’s consistently improving algorithm. Google is getting smarter and delivering a deeper understanding of online content. And marketers are rethinking the way they tailor content in 2021.
The focus is now on quality content.
There’s a new algorithm in Google town, the BERT system, that can understand “natural language” in Google searches. Their recommendation is marketers should focus their efforts on current, accurate, and well-written content.
That’s what the algorithm is giving preference to, and therefore websites and blogs that tick these boxes are going to rank better on Google.
This was also a finding that came out of the 2021 The Executive Marketing Leadership Survey where 500 marketing leaders shared how they have adjusted their investments in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and how they are planning to succeed in 2021.
One way to scale up your content creation is to include visuals in your blog’s long articles to break up the text.
A Picture Tells A Thousand Words
They say that a picture tells a thousand words, but online it can do more than that.
Often it’s the pictures that make your posts and articles stand out, and that could be the difference in someone reading your written information or moving on to the next one.
Other graphics can be good too.
It’s often about having something to grab attention but also relevant. Or maybe something to just make you smile.
Well Structured Content
Of course they will stop reading and move on if what you have written is poor or not relevant.
Be careful with the headings and structure of your writing. Too often I start reading an article only to be disappointed, whereas if it’s an interesting article I may have a closer look at the website and read more.
If it’s very good or interesting I may bookmark it or share it with others or on social media.
In business we know what we are doing, or we should. So why not tell the world what you know and become the expert in your field.
Google will love you for it and will reward you with better rankings which will mean more customers for your business.
Set yourself up with some smart tools and you can create lead magnets to ensure that your website visitors engage and provide you their email address so you can add them to your database for future marketing too.
